WATER PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)]

- • Remove and install all parts when the engine is cold, otherwise they can cause severe burns or serious injury.
1. Remove the battery cover. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].)
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the under cover.
4. Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].)
5. Remove the drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].)
6. Remove the timing belt. (See TIMING BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].)
7. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
8. Install in the reverse order of removal.
9. Add engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].)
10. Inspect for engine coolant leakage. (See ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE INSPECTION.)
Water Pump Installation Note
1. Tighten the bolts in 2 stages in the order as shown in the figure.
