DTC P0101	Mass air flow (MAF) sensor range/performance problem
DETECTION CONDITION	• Error path for exceeding the maximum drift limit in the low idle range • Error path for exceeding the maximum drift limit in the load range • Error path for plausibility check of sensitivity drift of air mass - Air mass ratio is higher than threshold high • Error path for plausibility check of sensitivity drift of air mass - Air mass ratio is lower than threshold low
POSSIBLE CAUSE	• MAF sensor malfunction • Air restriction or leakage at intake-air system • PCM malfunction

Diagnostic procedure


STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED • Has FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.
2	VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY • Verify related service repair information availability. • Is any related repair information available?	Yes	Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information. • If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	VERIFY CURRENT SIGNAL STATUS: IS CONCERN INTERMITTENT OR CONSTANT? • Connect the WDS or equivalent to the DLC-2. • Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the WDS or equivalent. • Run the vehicle under the FREEZE FRAME DATA stored condition. • Is the same DTC present?	Yes	Go to the next step.
3		No	Intermittent concern exists. Perform the "INTERMITTENT CONCERNS TROUBLESHOOTING". (See INTERMITTENT CONCERN TROUBLESHOOTING [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].)
4	INSPECT AIR RESTRICTION OR LEAKAGE AT INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM • Inspect the intake-air system for air restriction or leakage. • Is there any air restriction or leakage?	Yes	Repair or replace malfunctioning part, then go to Step 6.
4		No	Go to the next step.
5	INSPECT MAF SENSOR • Inspect the MAF sensor. (SeeMASS AIR FLOW (MAF) SENSOR INSPECTION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].) • Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Replace the MAF/IAT sensor, then go to the next step. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].)
5		No	Go to the next step.
6	VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P0101 COMPLETED • Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors. • Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the WDS or equivalent. • Run the vehicle under the FREEZE FRAME DATA stored condition. • Is the same DTC present?	Yes	Replace the PCM, then go to the next step. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].)
6		No	Go to the next step.
7	VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE • Perform the after repair procedure. (See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].) • Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].)
7		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
